Floor finish is a liquid applied to porous tiles that dries into an even, smooth, durable film. This film is about the same thickness as waxed paper and is used to protect and prolong the life of the floor. It also creates a smooth, slip-resistant surface.
What is a floor finish made of?
Twenty-five different elements are found in the best floor finishes. Some of these substances evaporate after drying, while others remain on the floor. The ingredients that fade are called “volatile,” while those that stay on your bed are known as “nonvolatile.”
Volatile elements are used to develop the film and cure the finish before they evaporate. Nonvolatile components are solid components that remain on the floor to create the film finish.

Different Types Of Floor Finishes
Concrete Flooring (Vacuum Dewatered)
In the concrete flooring, concrete is poured into place and vibrated using a poker vibration. The screed vibrator is used to vibrate the surface. It is supported by channel shutters spaced at a distance of 4.0 meters. The screed vibrator must be used twice to achieve the best leveling and compaction. Hardwood Floor Finishes
Hardwood flooring is mainly finished with water-based polyurethanes, oil finishes, and waxes.

Rubber Flooring
All modern rubber flooring (SBR) is made from synthetic rubber, like styrene-butadiene rubber. The tiles are vulcanized or cured by applying heat. Rubber flooring is non-porous and waterproof. They are durable and can handle a range of temperatures.
Alkalies, oil, grease, solvents, and UV light can damage rubber flooring. Rubber flooring can become sticky and soft when these elements are present. The rubber floor will become brittle and crack, then powder.
Vinyl flooring (IS 3492-1966).
Vinyl tiles and flooring come in many styles. Vinyl composition tiles are most commonly used, as well as homogeneous vinyl tiles or flexible vinyl tiles. Vinyl composition tiles can also include mineral fillers such as asphalt and colors in addition to vinyl resins.
The cost to manufacture laminated vinyl flooring is less than homogeneous or vinyl composition flooring. The initial low cost of the flooring may be misleading. Cork tiles are made from the outer bark. Cork is crushed and combined with synthetic resins before being pressed into sheets. Cork tiles are often covered with a transparent vinyl layer. This vinyl layer protects the cork from damage and stains.
