Tashalyth, Gripple Sustainability manager, says that Carbon neutrality is a milestone on our journey to net zero and paves the way for others to do the same.

Gripple manufactures the leading wire joiners, tensioners, and suspension solutions in construction, as well as engineered solutions for agriculture, solar, and infrastructure.

The company is 100% employee-owned and employs over 950 employees in 15 locations around the world. It has a unique business approach characterized by investments in people, innovative growth, and sustainable growth.

Gripple, a global manufacturer, delivers innovative and value-added products to a variety of industries, including civils, agriculture, solar, renewables, and manufacturing.

Sustainable construction is at the core of our efforts.

The recent Gripple sustainability report — “Our Journey to Climate Positivity: 2022 Progress” — highlights a major milestone in the company’s efforts to achieve carbon neutrality throughout its UK operations.

Carbon neutrality for Gripple’s UK operations marks an important milestone in our journey towards climate positivity. It also sets the stage for other manufacturing facilities around the world to follow suit, says Tashalyth Sustainability Manager, who won the Young Manufacturer of The Year award at The ManufacturerMX Awards 2022.

We are very proud of having achieved this goal. This was due to our focus on reducing carbon emissions, water and energy consumption, travel for business, and waste in all areas of our company.

The certification provider Planet Mark confirmed the achievement.

Steve Malkin is the CEO of Planet Mark. He said: “It’s fantastic that Gripple achieved carbon neutrality in its UK operations.”

The company has taken the next step in its ambitious plan to achieve carbon neutrality globally.

Gripple uses the Planet Mark certification method for data collection and data accuracy in areas that have a carbon footprint. These include energy, waste, water, travel, and certain elements of procurement.

Lyth says, “The release of our 2022 sustainability progress report helps our customers and partners understand how we are growing in an inclusive, environmentally-conscious way.”

We are committed to integrating cutting-edge technologies, forming strategic partnerships, and engaging stakeholders to ensure that we leave an indelible impact on the world.

What happens after carbon neutrality?

Gripple invests in its data collection process to allow it to assess and analyze a carbon footprint in full, which will enable it to achieve the following two goals:

  • Carbon neutrality is achieved by reducing global carbon emissions from 862,7 to 822,6, which represents a 4.6% total reduction.
  • Net zero emissions by 2030

As an employee-owned business, we’re incredibly proud of our efforts to build a company that is environmentally sustainable in the future”, says Kevin St Clair, Managing Director at Gripple UK & Ireland.

“We are committed to playing our part to reduce our impact on the environment and contribute to a more sustainable, brighter future.” We go beyond carbon neutrality and net zero emissions by designing products that provide environmental benefits to our customers and local communities worldwide.”
