Implementing new features in the TAKEOFF TAKEOFF, the most effective construction software to take measurements directly from PDF plans, is possible. It’s been a pleasure to work with the ConstructBuy team. It has been listening to customer requests and has recently updated the software with various enhancements, including the copy-paste feature functionality available in TAKEOFF, starting today.
Several highly requested enhancements are updated regularly, and we are thrilled to release the following four new features:
- Copy and Paste
- Selecting Takeoffs
- Rotate and flip
- Edit and Move

New feature: Copy and paste takeoffs.
After selecting a suitable takeoff (or multiple takeoffs, as you’ll discover in paragraph 2 in this post, it’s now feasible! ), Here’s how you can make use of the copy-paste feature in Takeoff:
- Takeoffs can be copied by pressing the icon in the toolbar that appears right after you select a launch. You’ll notice that the copies appear semi-translucent, allowing you to reposition them according to your desired plan.
- Copy your takeoffs by clicking the leftmost button on the mouse. Also, you will see an orange message at the bottom of your screen advising you that you can paste your takeoffs that you copied multiple times and at various locations by pressing your “Ctrl” key. You may even copy the beginning (subtraction) onto a different takeoff.
- You may also choose another plan page and paste your takeoffs copied onto it by pressing the left button on the mouse. It will be apparent that the takenoff that you copied is pasted onto the new plan page and then included in the report due to the “Results for the entire project” function that is activated.

The ability to select multiple takeoffs simultaneously.
You can now choose an assortment of Takeoffs by clicking the Takeoffs or pressing the left mouse button and then dragging over the shape you want. It will show the following:
- Select takeoffs are highlighted on the map, and the takeoff list is on the left side of the panel.
- A note in orange at the lower right-hand corner of the screen signals that you can create several choices by pressing the ‘Ctrl’ keys;
- A quick action bar will be displayed after you click the left button of your mouse, giving you an array of possible options for options, including:
Copy and paste
Edit and then move
-Delete
Flip and mirror
-Rotate

Ability to rotate or flip the Takeoff.
After you’ve made a choice or multi-selection of takeoffs, here are a few new features to consider:
- Click on an icon in the bar of contextual buttons that appears following the selection. This will allow you to paste the piece by various options, such as Flip and Rotation. Flip or Rotation options.
— Turnall the chosen takeoffs either horizontally or vertically;
— Then rotate all the takeoffs 90 degrees in a counterclockwise direction or clockwise.
- Copy the entire set of takeoffs that have been rotated to the desired location quickly using only two clicks using the menus that are quick to access for the copy-paste feature inside Takeoff. This will help you save valuable time and reduce the chance of errors during your Takeoff.

Edit and move the Takeoff.
After you have selected one or more options, Double-click one of the takeoffs you have selected or click on the ‘Edit and Move symbol on the toolbar, which appears following the selecting. Then, you can execute any of these actions:
- Transfer all takeoffs that you’ve selected by pressing your left-click until you reach the desired location is reached;
- Increase or reduce the size of each of the selected takeoffs. This can be done by choosing one of the handles for resizing around the perimeter of the Takeoff and dragging it, while holding your left mouse button until the desired size is reached;
- Rotate all takeoffs either counterclockwise or clockwise by choosing one of the handles that resize at the edge of the Takeoff and moving it with the mouse’s left button until you achieve the desired direction. You’ll then see the following details:
The rotation takes place in 22.5-degree increments.
An orange dotted line on the bottom of the screen shows that you can make an even more precise rotation by pressing the ‘Shift’ button.
- The possibility of being able to edit or choose the desired Takeoff by overlaying multiple takeoffs.
