There’s nothing better than an event to bring the industry together to show off the latest and most innovative technologies, and the upcoming Dimensions+ Conference was no different.
From AI and robots to the next generation of software releases, The construction industry is becoming a technologically-driven sandbox.
These are the newest technology for construction we observed during this conference.
1. Brain Computer Interface
Utilizing Brain waves’ power, observe as two participants fight on a remote-controlled race track. Beginning with a short drill of ‘push’ and “stop programs will isolate the brain activity opposite for control of the toy car racing on the track.
Absolutely an Expo, one of my favorites to attend, with a huge crowd watching. This technology could be a boon to applications in the construction industry to control things like machines or even brain-powered tasks that reduce manual work.

2. Autonomous & Semi-Autonomous Machinery
The main highlight ofof the year’s Offsite was how it drove it to a successful conclusion. In the Trimble Autonomy area, you know what semi-autonomous and autonomous machines exhibited throughout the day, showing their new capabilities. An autonomous excavator made a 30-meter trench independently, while a Dynapac compactor leveled the area precisely.
In the meantime, a semi-autonomous tractor fitted by Trimble Earthworks was controlled by remote control via the Trimble Autonomy team up above. After the excavator was finished with its trench, it would be filled with the dozer to complete the track and begin at the top.

3. Trimble Construction Cloud with Microsoft Azure
Live-sharing capabilities on multiple platforms Source Trimble
The announcement was made on the Main Stage this year. The Trimble Construction Cloud, co-created with Microsoft, is set to become an absolute game changer for the industry.
Ultimately, it connects the processes, data, and individuals like never before. This is thanks to things like the Common Data Environment (CDE) Open APIs, Trimble Developer Portal, and unique capabilities such as live sharing and custom-designed workflows.
Notable Stats:
- Get rid of inefficiencies and increase your accuracy by implementing custom workflows
- Scale and collaborate by collaborating in a real-time
- Let your data go by connecting your office to web-based tools to operate the site
4. Hilti ON!
A new partnership with Trimble lets contractors track their tools and assign jobs to them by integrating Hilti’s ON! Track asset tracking system, Trimble Viewpoint ERP, and Trimble Construction One. Trimble Construction One software.
The tracking system employs NFC tags on the equipment, allowing contractors to track the location and time when the equipment was used for invoicing without manually entering data that connects the field with finance.

5. The Great Library
Trimble Construction
You might be thinking about how a 2,000-year ancient library in Turkey was the basis of the modern construction resource. From the beginning of Rome to today’s marvel, learn how a group of adventurous engineers, architects, and contractors take on the most crucial question in Construction” Is Connected Construction possible?’. It is an exciting endeavor that connects all stakeholders in the industry to apply them to real-world applications.

6. CAT Command / CAT Vision / CAT Payload
The CAT brand introduced a whole range of technology to show with the CAT Command, the CAT Vision, and the CAT Payload.
Utilizing Cat Command technologies, you can improve operator security, equipment availability, and site productivity by using remote controls and semi-autonomous or completely autonomous devices. Universal rules permit operators to connect to five machines from one station.
CAT Vision provides personnel detection and alerts the user to the constantly changing conditions within the machine. In addition, CAT Payload adds innovative technology to loading materials which measures and manages the payload with precision.

7. Trimble Construction One: Civil Workflow
The advantages of Trimble’s Construction One solution suite were on the main Stage in the Construction keynote. Three workflows were described, including the MEP procurement workflow Structural Model for Fab and a civil Bid for the Build process.
Its connected civil Bid for Build workflow controls production throughout the construction project. The estimate is then created, the items for payment into the finance management software using cost codes and types, and a work order is issued to the operator at the site. The operator’s machine receives control of the device — reducing up to 20% of productivity, and the linked device sends real-time updates on progress back to the office to check against actuals.

8. Sketchup for iPad
The announcement was made in the fall of 2021. It is a technology that will resonate throughout the design industry. It will serve as a bridge that is accessible to designers and architects. This allows the design to move away off the page — or, more accurately, the desktop and to be genuinely mobile to design on-site, the move, and everywhere else.
